Chapter 6
Meanwhile, back in the city of Crystannia. Adam and Rory are sitting by a campfire, boiling water to cook come clams brought back for them by a local fisherman.

"Dude." Adam says breaking the silence. "How long have we been here?"

"1 day."Rory replies adding spices to the water boiling the clams. "Heh, I garr-on-tee!"

Adam isn't impressed by his Cajun Chef impersonation.

"No, dude. I meant how hong have we been here in this world." Adam clarifies.

Rory looks at his watch and notices for the first time that it has stopped.

"Aw, man! My watch stopped." Rory laments. "It was the only one we have too."

"Dare you to hazzard a guess?" Suggests Adam to his is associate who is currently smacking his watch against his hand trying to get it working again.

"Uhhh.....6 weeks...I think." Rory calculates still tinkering with his watch. "Think our powers could fix it?"

"Probably, but why?" Asks Adam. "We never could get the time exactly right again. But dude, think about it. Six weeks here and my bountiful and bodacious crop of facial hair hasn't grown one bit!"

"Come to think about it," Rory contemplates "I haven't had to shave this entire time either."

"It's because of your new bodies." a voice behind them remarks.

"SCOTT!"

"She will be alright," spoke Melissa with a great deal of authority, " A little rest and Miss Kazami will be as good as new."

'Physically speaking,' Belldandy thought to herself. She knew the mental anquish Mizuho would go through having witnessed Kei's transformation into one of...them.

Melissa rose from the bedside, her task completed for the time being. As a disciple of Mylee, it was her mission in life to aide others in times of stryfe or peril. " It is fortunate we were home today." she said as she walked towards the hearth," Normally we are away on some adventure or another but..."

Bell noticed how awkward this very regal young woman became whenever she mentioned HIS name.

" Well, Louie was BUSY with his schoolwork." Melissa sighed very deeply.

Bell thanked Melissa for her kindness, especially given the abrupt manner in which all of them had come together. Abrupt being the operative word. Scott had unwittingly plowed Mizuho's car directly into the cozy little cottage Melissa's VERY muscular friend Genie lived in. It was all Bell could do to keep the fiery red-headed warrior woman from cleaving poor Scott in two. Offering assistance in repairing the damage kept him in one piece.

At least for the time being.

" So, what's the story with...ummm..." Melissa started, brushing aside her lovely mane of golden hair as she sat down opposite of Belldandy.

" Scott," Bell responded quickly, saying his name rather softly.

"...Scott..." Melissa coughed,"... anyway? " Melissa wasn't certain why she had asked the question as she had. It was impossible to forget such a name as Scott given the chaos he had precipitated. Was she simply curious about him? Considering how VERY protective Bell had become when he was threatened with being cleaved by Genie...

Or was Melissa fishing for something more?

" Scott is a very dear friend..." Belldandy realized too late the implications of what she had said. Ah well, she thought, let it be. "...and I am accompanying him on his journey to find his friends. "

"I see." Melissa coolly cooed. Her first impression had brought forth an unexpected harvest. Still, it was best not to pry TOO deeply. Afterall, Melissa's own feelings towards a certain brawny idiot were very ...indescribeable. " Well, as soon as your friend is able, we will take you to Ohfun. "

Belldandy thanked Melissa again. She looked at Mizuho resting comfortably upon the bed. It would be difficult journey for them both. A very difficult journey indeed. Bell took a deep breath. As she did, a single thought intruded upon her mind.

" I KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE."

Meanwhile, outside, Scott labored heavily under the gleaming eyes of the woman whose home he had partially wrecked. Genie eyed her new pet with a ferocious intensity. Her rather LARGE sword lay across her lap as she sat directly behind Scott. " If I cannot cut you down to size, " Genie thought to herself," at least I can have some fun watching you sweat."

Scott simply labored onward with his work. He had no time to be concerned about the Xena wannabe breathing down his neck. He had several more important problems requiring his attention.

One alone that could prove the undoing of them all.

...to be continued...
