::Chapter 1::

=A girl is moving into an apartment=

//My name is Ayuna. Recently I've had to make a move from my old house to a new apartment. I was mostly having troubles concentrating on my job and my family thought new scenery would do me a world of good. I hope they're right.

=She hears a man singing=

//This voice... it's breathtaking...

=She goes to her balcony (She shares a balcony with one neighbor)=

=She watches her neighbor as he is singing and writing down lyrics=

=All of a sudden, he turns, sighting her=

=She blushes, waves, and cocks her head in embarrassment=

=He stands up and walks to her=

Sai: "May I help you?"

Ayuna: "Oh, I'm the one moving in next door... I-I wanted to introduce myself!"

=She holds out her hand=

"My name's Ayuna Kimite. Oh, and I'm so sorry for interrupting you. And wow! You have such a wonderful voice!"

=He does not say anything=

"Well, I suppose I'd best get back to work. I still have several boxes yet to bring up here..."

=She smiles=

"We'll have loads of time to talk later!"

Sai: "How many boxes?"

Ayuna: "Huh?"

Sai: Boxes you yet need to bring upstairs?"

Ayuna: "Just a few more. That's all."

Sai: "I'll help you."

Ayuna: "Oh, no! You don't have to! I've already interrupted you as it is..."

Sai: "It was nothing."

Ayuna: "But..."

=He gives her a little push and a smile=

Sai: "Those boxes...?"

Ayuna: "Ah..."

=She half smiles in defeat=

"Okay..."



=They are bringing the boxes up the stairs=

Ayuna: "Thank you so much for helping me."

=He inclines his head=

"Um... I'm really new here and... you wouldn't happen to know of a good place to eat, would you? I haven't had a chance to go grocery shopping and all..."

Sai: "I don't really eat out."

=Her face falls=

Ayuna: "Oh... okay. Thank you anyway."

=She smiles and a look of consternation crosses his face=

=They arrive at her room=

"Well, thank you again. And I must find some way to repay you!"

Sai: "Don't worry about it."

Ayuna: "But-"

Sai: "Don't."

Ayuna: "O-okay."

=He walks to the door=

Sai: "Good day."

Ayuna: "Goodbye."

=He walks out and shuts the door=

"And I still need to find some food... ohh! (stomach growling).

=Knock on her door=

"Come in!"

=Sai pokes his head in=

Sai: "Come over to my apartment in about an our."

=He walks out=

Ayuna: "Err... o...kay..."



=At Sai's apartment=

Ayuna: "Thank you for inviting me."

Sai: "It's nothing."

Ayuna: "You keep saying that! But it's not nothing!"

Sai: "Why?"

Ayuna: "Well, at least, it isn't to me!"

=Eating at the table=

"So! What do you do as a living? And, more importantly, what exactly is your name?"

=He blushes a bit=

Sai: "My name is Sai Vere and I review novels."

Ayuna: "Really? Wow! I bet that's fun! A legal excuse to read books all day! I'm an artist. Oh, and do you sing anywhere? You have such a gorgeous voice!"

Sai: "No. I don't sing."

Ayuna: "You should!"

=He remains reticent throughout the meal=

=Afterwards they are having tea and sitting on the sofa=

"Thank you for dinner. OH! I know what I can do for you! I'll fix a really nice meal for you and we can have dinner together again! I'm an excellent cook, so just let me know what your favorite dish is and

I'll whip it right up!"

Sai: "That's not necess-"

Ayuna: "Oh, posh! It's settled!"

=She stands=

"Well, I'll be going now. I still have to unpack some stuff and all. Goodnight!"

Sai: "Goodnight..."
